Looking for a light/road type 10-speed derailleur for a 11-40 cassette, my first with more than 36t.

Have been using modded SRAM XX with up to 36t with no issues on my 2x10, but these are only rated for 36t.
The XX1 type can handle up to 42t but is over 250g, as opposed to my XX at about 100g less.
Any suggestions for a lighter derailleur that can run to 40t?

I'd just try the XX first, it wasn't designed for 40T but may well be fine.

For example my XTR (short cage 9 speed as it happens so designed for a max of 34T) copes with a 40T no issue (all stock, not even a longer B-screw) but from some quick measurements wouldn't cope with 42T, I doubt a road mech will work if the XX won't!

My xo 10sp type 2 in medium cage works just fine, only needed a small adjustment of the b screw.

sram mtb 11sp won't work with any other system, but sram 10/11 road and 10sp mtb will work just fine

that Goat Link is very cool, but wonder why the page says that SRAM derailleurs are "not supported"?
Does the thickness of the part place the derailleur too far out from the original mount?

It's not light, but my short-cage 2x10 GX handles an 11-42t perfectly.

It replaces the link that connects Shimano direct mount RD's to a normal hanger. SRAM just bolts straight to the hanger.

I have an X0 Type 2.1 running a 42T. Works pretty good and weighs in at 230gr. The clutch adds about 40gr compared to the non clutch version.
