I have a 28t version of the X-MonoSync with a true narrow wide every other tooth profile and it works perfect. Chain doesn't ever drop with no front guide, even on DH trails. The new ring is going to fix this for you.

That's great to hear! At the same time, it makes me a little annoyed that they even shipped a product like the one I got. That design doesn't make any sense.

Anyway, new chainring should be here in the beginning of next week, so then we'll see.

I have the Carbon Ti 30T X-MonoSync NW/NW running 1 x 9 with a non clutch derailleur and have not dropped the chain once. The new ring should solve your issue's.

New chainring has arrived. It weighs in at 33,3 grams, which is 0,85 grams more than the one I returned. That is a weight penalty I'm more than happy to pay... Testing with the new chainring will be conducted this weekend :) Thanks for everyone's interest and contribution in this thread!

First ride today, and no issues to report. Looks as if the issue was indeed those weird half-wide teeth on the previous chainring. So all good for now :)

Looks like CarbonTi tested their product on you.
