With all the 1x options today, I was disappointed that there is no dm chainring for the KCNC crank sets.
So I came up with a cracy idea , and since some of my friend are as crazy as I am, this idea became reality.

I bought a Woolftooth dm chainring. My friend Axel did weld a aloy plate in the center and an other budy did cut out the K-type pattern with his CNC.

Here it is... 32 tooth direct mount chainring for my KCNC Silverbone crankset

Interesting. Is it actually an Absolute Black chainring? Did you do any heat treatment after welding?

Don't stress. It's not even been a day since you posted. You also happened to post at a time when not a lot of members from Aus/NZ and the America's are online. They're asleep or probably out riding.

Very few people run KCNC cranks so it has limited appeal but it is a clean solution- like it  How difficult was it do if you had to do it again for a different crank/ ring?

Did you cut out the spline section straight from the old spider or did you make it from scratch on a CNC machine after a blank had been welded in?

Did you do anything special to ensure the chainring is radially centered on the crank?

DanW...since it is the daily routine to both of my budies , I susspect it was not this difficult to them.

jooo...the original spider is still untouched. Axel did weld in a blank plate of aloy

Kracktor...Axel made it at his lathe, while he prepared the chainring for the welding

I will keep you in the loop, how the chainring works at the Silverbone

They just have smaler cutter at work, and so it will last to long to make a whole new ring...I did ask for it right at the beginning ;)
