Hi All,

Some help needed please as not much info on the interweb above these forks and lock out.

I have a Trek Superfly (Ex Team Issue) with the above electronic lock out fork (quite rare and not available here in the UK) with external Di2 battery.

I want to convert this to a Di2 battery that is mounted in the fork steerer.

I think these are the parts I need to convert this, can anyone confirm if I fit these parts it will work? Cheers Jason.

Hi, I had one of these with the internal battery. You're correct with those parts that you need, battery, charger, junction box to plug the charger into, holder for the battery in the steerer.

Would be neater if you also get a shorter wire to run from the battery to the junction box, maybe 400 or 450mm?

My battery was installed when I got the bike, so I'm not sure what was inside the steerer holding the battery, but it had lockwire up and around the star nut in the steerer as an added security measure. The fork had an alloy steerer. You don't want the battery sliding out onto the front wheel on a bumpy ride!

Thanks for the info androidavies. Defo do not want the battery to slip down the steerer and hit the tyre, never thought of lock wiring it to the star nut. not sure how this can be done but will look into it. Lots of my rides are over rocky terrain so the bike gets hammered and rattled to death.
