Who is it that you think doesn't get that?

You said 'M5 is lighter than aluminium'. M5 is aluminium. That's all there is to get. Sure, it can be made into lighter frames than some cheaper alloys, but I'd be wary of claiming that it's lighter than any other aluminium frames.

C... Could we see complete specs with weights and the weight of the bike on a scale?

FWIW, i don't make bike parts, it's always been about the racing for me, and i can gain more by selecting the right parts off the shelf (10 minutes) and then training more/better/smarter. Plus sponsors like you to use their kit.

The stuff i have been involved in designing, you see every day. Driving around the streets and flying overhead. Quite a lot of it has won awards.

And if you don't race, how can you say you've beaten people using your flats. And claim that your 26" bike is faster? Until you've actually tested, in an environment where everyone is at 10/10ths (so not on a bimble round the lanes and trails) you don't know, its guess work and estimations.

And Specialised don't make their own, they buy it out of a catalogue. Same as everyone else, they just call it something funky to make it sound different, even Principias alloy (which was actually pretty funky in the world of 7000 series aluminium alloys) was straight out of a catalogue.
