Hi I'm new here, and to biking. Wanting to get in to it for leisure and fitness really. doing path/road/trail riding at first.
I've just acquired a 2005 Marin Bear Valley, with some mods I think.
Manitou comp six front fork
Ovation hubs
Sun race juju cassette
Truvativ fiveD crank
Mavic x139 wheels
Wtb speed v saddle
Are all names etc I can see
Would any one care to look and see what I have and where I could improve/lose weight.
The budget isn't huge but I'll consider spending good money as my experience moves on.
Also I'm not talking necessarily super light but lighter than I have.
I'll try and weigh the current setup

Thanks

Easy hits will be grips, tyres and tubes (either tubeless or lightweight tubes).

Also weigh the easy to do components (saddle, post, clamp, stem etc - or get online weight were that is difficult).

Other then the items in the first line, you then need to decide a target weight and work at getting the right parts to achieve that, going superlight is very costly while going 'fairly light' need not be, so setting a target weight will give you some idea what weight for each part and then how much you need to spend.
