I'm planning to buy some XT WHM785 wheels and convert them to 11 speed:
1) Is there an 11 speed cassette body available?
2) Is is possible to machine the existing cassette body to take an 11 speed cassette?
(there will need to be enough material on the cassette body (1.5mm I think) and still have enough spoke clearance for this to work - If anyone has a good photo that would help).

Thanks weenies!

Shimano 11 speed MTB cassettes (XT and XTR) fit a standard freehub. XX1 requires an XD freehub which I doubt Shimano make. 11 speed road cassette don't and won't fit as far as I know. Only Mavic MTB freehubs are long enough for roadie 11 speed.

Besides all that, there are far better wheels for the money than those XT!

Thanks. They're a great deal and I was wanting to use them as a spare set of CX wheels with 11 speed 11-25 cassette
