Hi all,

My first post here I think. Been reading this forum a lot figuring out what parts to get for my new build.

Image

This is a Santa Cruz Highball Carbon frame, '14.

Overall weight is just under 9 kilos / 19.8 Lbs.

I may be able to shave some more weight off, but want to keep it a strong build (so, for example, I am resisting putting Furious Freds on it!)

You can read more at my blog http://niksbikingblog.blogspot.co.uk/20 ... build.html

Any comments or ideas for further weight reduction are most welcome!

Nice. My Cube 29er is the same weight but I'm rigid (Kinesis IX fork) so you've done well to get under 9 with a bouncy fork.

You save on the cranks (I'm XT), pedals (XT), hubs (Hope) on initial inspection.

Sweet ride. I was a little over 19lbs with my Scott Scale/SID build. Looks like most of that was made up in the frame weight difference.
