Hello everyone,

Trying to reduce the weight on my full suspension bike. I'm broke and need to buy stuff used off eBay when possible.

I know cranksets can be substantial.

Right now I am using the Truvativ GXP Stylo 20/32/44 and I am running a bash guard instead of 44 ring.

Other things:
Shifters: are x0 10 speed right and x9 left
Bars: Niner Flat Top 9
Stem: Truvativ Aluminum 100mm
Fork: 150mm Rock Shox Revelation RCT3 Solo Air
Brakes: Avid ElixirR
Discs: Avid (thinking about buying BRACKO or ASHIMA floating disc for front an)
Seatpost: Raceface Aluminum
Saddle: WTB Thinline
Front Derailleur: XT bottom pull
Rear Derailleur: SRAM X-7 2.1 Medium
Pedals: crankbrothers titanium eggbeaters or alum candies depending on the day.

Wheelset: I literally JUST sold my Stans ZTR Arch non EX wheelset for $300 and I just bought a ENVE Carbon Fiber rim for $170. I know how to build wheels so I am thinking about running a decent aluminum wheel in back and the ENVE Carbon in the front. Just need to find the right hubs... they need to be very affordable and 15mm thru axel in the front. I have a set of Giant S-XC wheels right now to hold me over till I'm finished building the new wheels then I should be able to get $75-100 for them.

Do you need a 2x front, going to a single ring will save you about 400g.

Not checked the weights but I doubt the stem, bars or seatpost are competitive on weight

Foam grips are a very cheap way to lose some weight.

Look at lighter bash guards (if you must run one) some are really heavy, some much lighter, the Gamut one is very light or I run a carbon fibre one that comes in at just 26g.
Impoverished weight weenie wanna-be!

What kind of bike, what does it weigh now, how is it ridden, how much do you weigh? Tires, tube? Tubeless?

Unless the bike is relatively light and has only a few heavy parts left, shaving weight off a functional build doesn't make a lot of sense :(
