I had a quick question for you...
I picked up a frame on eBay a while back. I failed to notice that it was disc only. I was going to get rid of the frame, but then I thought about adding the bosses. I know it is tough to weld on aluminum, but not impossible. Has anyone had this done, and if so, how much should I expect to pay?
Thanks!
Robert

Welding Al isn't that hard - with lots of practice ;) There is no colour change on heating and if you havn't done it before there is a good chance you will melt the frame.

After welding the frame will have to be reheat treated, or failure could happen quite quickly.

Ok. It sounds possible, but not easy. I think I'll pass. :(
If anyone is interested in a disc only 19"/M 2001 Giant XTC SE1 send me a PM.
Thanks for all of the info, guys!
