I'm facing probably the same type of dilemma. i'm switching my v's for disks (Martha + WTB (AC) disk hub) but still wonna keep the wieght as low as i can. is it all right if i use Revolution 1.8-1.5-1.8 spokes for the disk wheels. front? rear?

my mechanic says that Revolution spokes are no good when trying to true the wheel. how true is that, bike gurus? :?

i'm 160lbs, riding MCM hardtail, pure cross country style. maximum 1 feet drops. :)

thanks

Got the same feedback from a mechanic on my wheels.

X517 rims (I know they are V-brake rims)
DT rev spokes
XT disc hubs

I got the wheels built as I had V-brakes at the time, but knew I would be eventually upgrading.

I ride XC like you with max 1 feet drops. When I got the wheels I felt the spokes were not tight enough, so with NO experience I PLAYED about with them. I wrecked the dishing so bad that my rear tyre started to rub the frame a the back.

Took the bike to a mechanic who sorted it in 5 to 10 minutes. Had no problems since. Had one slight dent put in the rims from (not sure how well this translates for non-english) "bunny hopping" up a curb. I had road tyres on (85 psi) and got a snake bite. Dent in the rim, flat tyre but didnt sent the wheel out of true.

im thinking of 3 cross aerolite for my front disc wheelset setup.
Im not sure about titanium spokes for the front.
Any riders here riding with titanium spokes on front wheelset and use disc brake?

I'm about to build a pair of DH wheels with Aerolites (New Aeros on drive -Mavis Ex823's onto Hadleys), and on DT's claim they are stronger than CX-Rays (DH capable) they should work well.

I have yet to build a set of race XC wheels with Disc Brakes, but would probably do so with Aeroiltes or maybe Rev's. I currently have Rev's in the non-Disc side of my FR front wheel and they have been fine.
