Cracked Cannondale Flash F29, input needed.
Moderator: Moderator Team
Hey,
I just recently cracked my lovely Cannondale Flash 29er Hi-Mod frame. I'm looking for some input on this topic as I'm puzzled what to do next:
1) sell everything as it is (with a broken frame) get some scraps and buy I new bike with the money I don't have atm
2) hunt for new frame on eBay and maybe fix (or not) the old one and sell it.
3) maybe an open mold frame is an option?

Which year, if you have one with the Cannondale specific 1.5" headset then you'll need a new fork unless you buy another 'dale.
Impoverished weight weenie wanna-be!

How did you cracked it? The picture are not visible...
it is hard to judge since we do not see your pictures,
but I would have it inspected by a good carbon repair shop and have it repaired if money is not there for a new one. Ibis have a "no fault" replacement program, maybe you could check with Cannondale if they have one, I doubt, but maybe.

I also vouch for carbon repair. Carbon is actually pretty easy to work with and repair.
Calfee Designs is really good at this, reasonable with price, and really nice people to work with.

Another vote for repair. It's just like fixing a dinged surfboard; not that hard. Although, with the resin being exotic epoxy it's not something I'd DIY.
The most expensive part will be matching the paint, which takes a skill and an eye that I don't have.
