Aaa... that's a point.
Jag tävlar ej och stansad.
Stansad hjälper inte alltid tyvärr :/ Men rejsar man inte och alltid har en 6mm insex med så go ahead!
Newest style Maxle is hardly "quick" release. Not as quick as a standard QR. The bolt on thru axles (on forks) are just as quick to change as Maxle style. Anyway, if you get a puncture in an XC race and you are towards the front then it is pretty much race over regardless of a second or two extra to get a wheel out... non?
I went for the Shift Up axles to save some pennies and it does the job just fine.

I'm using one on my Sworks Epic - love it. Super-clean look. Easy enough to remove. As long as you have a multi tool on you with long enough bits. The Swat tool that fits over the rear shock in my frame works fine.
The 6mm hex is on the threaded end which is counter-intuitive. Not sure why they did that. Doesn't need a lot of torque. I also keep plenty of grease on both through axles.
And yes, the Maxle light blows. Poor design IMO.
As previously noted. If you are at the sharp end of a race and you puncture, you're toast any way you slice it. You can get this axle out just as quickly as the Maxle.

Well I don't like getting up an extra tool while racing, therefore I go with axles with handle on
