Dear weight weenies.
I've got myself a pair of KCNC Ti skewer in MTB length.
For the front, it seems that mine is aliittle bit too short at the thread when installed. Looking at this link here, do u think its a problematic issue? Does all KCNC to user have their thread length the same as mine ?

Thanks .

Could you upload a slightly larger image? I can hardly see the threads.

I wouldn't use it like that. You need a couple more mm to be safe.

I wouldn't ride that for sure. On such a lightweight aluminium fastener (the nut) you would want full thread engagement.

I just checked mine - there are three threads protruding out of the nut.

Thanks for all the replies here. Im so unlucky to have received such a abnormal skewer from them. I hope KCNC is not trying to shave off even more weight by this way.

That skewer will be for a road bike, they just sent you the wrong one.

I think the difference between a road and mtb skewer is its length for the rear wheel. The front skewer are the same for both if I'm not wrong.

It's a Magura durin 2012 . I've used many skewers for this fork already. It's the first time I've cone across a skewer with a threaded end that's so short .

Could someone verify their length of the threaded end of their FRONT kcnc skewer. Mine is just about 21mm or 2.1cm long as u can see from the picture. At closed position, it's a 100mm front skewer which is correct. I'm suspecting my thread length is a little bit short than usual, but I've got to be sure on this.

Thanks.

I realise this is going to be too late for wheeler, but in case anyone else comes across this thread whilst Googling the same problem as I did, I'm going to put up my lengths of my KCNC titanium skewers which are a too short for a BH Ultralight 2014 model (both front and rear).

KCNC titanium skewer lengths with lever closed:
-Front - 120mm total length and 20mm of thread.
-Rear - 155mm total length and 20mm of thread.
-Nut has a thickness of 9mm ergo allowing for full thread engagement, the front has a maximum length of 111mm and the rear 146mm.
