Hey folks, I am thinking about buying a 2007 Cannondale Rush 5 with a Lefty fork. My question is, is the Lefty fork the Manitou, or Fox fork on the 2007? Would anyone buy this bike, it is in the $500 dollar range? Thanx for your help.

A 2007 mountain bike could be pretty worn out. I personally like to buy new when it comes to mountain bikes or in the case of my most recent used. The only reason I bought used is the guy that built it rode it about 100 miles around town and was too busy with school to take it off road and that is why he sold it.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking about the fork. Some people prefer the Lefty's and Fox definitely has its following.

BTW :welcome: to the forum.

I think he's referring to the internals of the lefty.
Some have Manitou SPV cartridge dampers; others had Fox internals.

For a 5 though, i'd expect it to be bottom end, and neither of these...

An 8 year old MTB could be a big semi-mobile cash eating monster especially a full susser.

i think it would be fair to say that any lefty troubles would come from cartridges but from migrating bearing races.
