Keep hearing different things about the sizing. some say size up/stay same.
SiDi MTB Drako Carbon SRS are the shoes in question.

their guide isn't all that helpful, I use 42 in both specialised and shimano. I have 26cm length feet. +/- a few mm.
would you recommend I stick with a 42? just don't want to order a 42 and they are to small.
The option to try them on isn't an option with no dealers locally.

I have a chart I found somewhere that lists many different shoes manufacturers and how the sizes match up. Doesn't have specialized tho, but Shimano and Sidi match up at size 42.
But my size Sidi 44 matches up with shimano 44.5.
US Shoe size 10.
Not the best but might help you out a bit.

Short story I would stick with 42.

We sell both Shimano and Sidi. In more recent years Sidi has had more standard volume to there shoes. Still a little bit less volume compared to Shimano but volume/size difference more akin to comparing a Carbon sole race to a standard cycling shoe in the same brand. Think performance fit not drastic difference. Where say 3 years ago they did run much less overall shoe volume. The Sidi rep (a bias source) said that Specialized tried to replicate Sidi fit. As the story goes they would ride with one shoe Sidi and one Spec to try to have them match when they were developing there shoes. Maybe just a good story but that at least says the fit should be very similar.

I generally take 42s but ended up with 43s (Sidi Eagle 6 carbon) but I think you should start with the 42.

If you can't get to a shop my best advice is mail order from somewhere that will take them back. I bought 2 pairs and sent one pair back.

Someone is bound to say Sidi are narrow so why did I find them short/wide? I explain it thus: I have narrow feet so normally wear shoes a half size smaller to get a narrow fitting and my toes have to be near to the cap to achieve this. Standing between 2 boxes I measured my foot length at 26.5cm. The 43 Sidi foot bed is also 26.5.

I believe Sidi is sizing is as good as it can be given people's feet are not all the same shape; you should start with the 42.

Over time the shoes have eased up width-wise and I now run double foot beds to make them narrower but I still don't think I want them shorter.

I wear 45 shimano and 45.5 sidi, 45 sidi seem just a hair short.
