I use cat-eye buttons for the front and Shimano climbing shifter for the rear.

I am considering it. I found them locally for 49 euro. But I also have this in my parts box. It fits a DA 7800 derailleur. Maybe it will work?

This is my setup from last year. Now i'm riding with a internal battery in the seat post.
