A buddy of mine just picked up this bike, but I can't figure out what frame this is, as well as cranks. figured some of you could help me out

Definitely a GT Zaskar frame.

As mentioned above looks like a GT Zaskar frame with no decals. Cranks are definitely Lightning.

Light or fast is up to the rider and application.
