Quick follow up. Went to Interbike and saw a company called Response. Ordered a three of their cassettes. Installed one on my 29er. Replaced the OneUp 42T and Wolf Tooth 16T add ons.

40/42T: 11-13-15-18-21-24-28-32-36-40/42

11T - Hi tensile steel
13-28 - Chromoly
32-40/42 - Aluminum

No experience with either, but NAVAL and DOVAL both have options floating around on eBay.

I've only taken it on a few rides...but for now it seems to work good.

The best part is the 18 and 21T. You don't have the 15 to 19 jump like you do with the add on 42T's. I can feel the change in cadence when making the gear shifts. With the Response gearing...the cadence feels more consistent when shifting through those gears.

I'm using the OneUp 40t and 16t (removed 15/17) on a Sram 1070 cassette.

Shifting into and out of the 40t is fine with my X9 Type 2 derailleur. B-tension screw has plenty of room to go further in.

Shifting from the existing 13t --> OneUp 16t is rubbish... It doesn't shift with just a click of the lever like usual, you must oversight slightly after the 'click' in the shifter to get it onto the 16t. With a 34t on the front I find I am using that shift when on flatter ground or descending and it's a bit of a pain in the ass. Perhaps the Wolf Tooth 16t is better designed/clocked for shifting. Tempted to drop the 40 and go back to a 32t on the front so it shifts as good as standard.

Anybody else had issues with their 16t?

Contact OneUp about the issues with the 16T. I read that they may have a version 2 of their 16T.

I've used both the OneUp and Wolf Tooth 16T's. I've found that they both feel the same...with the Wolf Tooth being marginally better. The Wolf Tooth looks like a reverse engineered OneUp with slightly more machining.

You can also buy a Shimano M771 16t sprocket separately online. They're just 5-6€ and shifting is perfect.

Its not a direct fit? You have to do some grinding of the cog to properly "clock" it.
