Spoke to Trek UK who said 10.62kg for the 9.8 SL bike, and 10.15kg for the standard 9.8. So there's quite a difference in the frames - 900g vs 1370g, which seems a little excessive if anything.

What? 9.8 SL bike weights more than 9.8? You surely meant the other way round.

I don't think the weight difference between the 9.8 and the 9.8sl is only down to the frame.
The wheels on the 9.8sl are believed to weight 1640gr while the Dt Swiss from the 9.8 weight 1850gr if not more.

And then the FOX is somewhat heavier than the SID. 50-100gr???

470-210-50=210

900+210= 1110gr or close is what the 9.8 frame probably weights.

Some differences between the 9.9 frame and the 9.8-9.6 options.
The chain stays are 435mm vs 445mm for the 9.9
The bb is 5mm lower for the 9.6-9.8 bikes.
Building the 9.9 in Project One with about the same components as the 9.8SL costs about $1325 more. ~828 pounds.
The 9.8SL frame has some internal cable routing. The 9.6-9.8 bikes and frameset are all external.

What size? Did you weigh the carbon armour by itself?

18.5"

Didn't weigh the armour, it came fitted. I took the chainstay protector off and it left a horrible black film behind, plus there's a hole for it to locate into on the top of the chainstay which looked a bit pants, so I put it back on. Bit of a shame. With XX1 chainslap is minimal anyway. Chainstay protector was light.

Just a bit late, but since I'm looking too to buy a Superfly 7 and was trying to find it's weight... I was luck to find a PDF with all Trek bikes weight.

Here are some weights I found:

Superfly 5 - 12,5Kg
Superfly 6 - 11,5Kg
Superfly 7 - 11,3Kg
Superfly 8 - 11,3Kg
Superfly 9.6 - 11,5Kg
Superfly 9.8 - 10,6Kg

I'm not allowed to post URL since I'm new here in this forum, if you want full PDF, google for "chamizo.be trek weight pdf"

I also wonder what the weight for Bontrager XR1 Team Issue Tubeless Ready, aramid bead, 29x2.20" is? 690? If so I will cut off like + 500 grams with my Thunder Burts.
