Is this safe to cut carbon handlebar?

I have possibility to buy used Syntace VECTOR which has been cut to 620mm. This width is fine for me but I've noticed producer not provide to cut this handlebar more than to 640mm.

I'm wondering can bigger cut makes any difference as for strength of the handlebar? Is this safe to ride on it (not counting that it's used carbon)?

Shorter or less width handlebar is even more strong, but you need more strenght to handle bike.

Are you sure? I thought a lot of bars had thicker walls where grips etc. are clamped on, and thinner walls elsewhere?

No, the Syntace (I have some) are reinforced at the tip for bar ends (only), as long as you are not fitting bar ends it is safe to use them cut shorter.

I've seen some bars with clamp zones marked on them as well. For shifters and brakes.
I suspect trimming too much will move your shifters and brakes too far inboard. Though i doubt that 10mm per side would matter hugely. Unless you are 2m tall, weigh 100 kilos and have hands like shovels. Then you have to wonder why you've got 620mm wide bars....

(As per the last post, i wouldn't risk bar ends!)
