got a set of 2012/13 DT Swiss 240 Cl hubs and the rear has end cap adapters for 12x142 which I need to convert back to 10x135. The drive side cap was easy - simply used a QR inserted from the NDS and a quick tap and out came the adapter but the non-drive side cap is not as straight forward. Looked at the DT Swiss support documents and searched several forums and although I found a bunch of threads for converting 10x135 to 12x142, none seem to have the level of detail I need. Question is with the axle removed and clamped in an axle vice, other than a very small slide hammer or vice grips, I see no way to remove the cap - so what am I missing?

Vice grips are the way, they should slide off with not a lot of force... At least that's the case for mine as I switch between 10x135 and 12x142 on my dt wheel set quite often.
