DT Swiss XCR 1250s?

I'm currently riding American Classic 26" SS wheels on my rigid 26er. I'm looking at getting a pair of XCR 1250s. However... I have a few concerns, and web reviews seem a little superficial.

Will they be durable enough for trail riding, or are they strictly Race Day Only? I'm especially concerned about this as I ride rigid!

Also, they don't appear to be TL-Ready. Do they convert well with tape and valves? Or should I plan on switching to lightweight ubes?
