Hi,
I'm new to the boards, but been lurking for a while.

I want to replace my front shock and need your help in picking the right one. Would like to find something lighter. I currently have a 97 or 98 Marzocchi Z2 Atom bomb.

I'm 6' 6" 220LB
I have an XL Santa Cruz Tazmon (28 LB) which I built in 98.

I was thinking Marzocchi Marathon or a fox ??

Thanks in advance

Given your weight, I would go with a Fox. It will hold up better than the Marathon for you. Also has better adjustability. The 80X or the 100X are really slick (good anti-bob control).

I'd also opt for the fox f80X Sublime!

F80X rocks. I would not do the 100X as it would really slacken your head angle and impact steering

Matt,

I think you will be very happy with that shock. It doesn't have the bells and wistles as the 80X but it is a really good shock that will work well for your weight and riding style.

The only real appreciable difference between the 80X and what you ordered is the inertia valve. The inertia valve makes the lockout option automatic instead of a manualy operated knob.

Let us know how it works for you!

I use an F100 RLT on my sugar. Love it. Be aware you can get grit under the top adjusters on the right hand leg, meaning when you go to lock it out, you adjust the rebound(i think) setting. Keep it clean and no problems. I also put a mark on all my dials and one on the leg of the fork . At the optimal settings they all line up. That way I can see immediately if it has moved.
