What are the odds of m770 double chainrings working well in the middle and inner position of my M442 cranks.

I've been wanting to try a double, and found some cheap M770 chainrings locally. Looks like I'd drop at least 100 grams, and have the shifting setup I want. However, i'm not sure it would work, let alone well.
