How do you remove the lockout on a DT Swiss XRC Race LTD?

You'll need bent lock ring pliers for internal lock rings, like this:

then unscrew the black screw where the lockout cable is mounted in the middle. But you'll need something to cover or replace that with if you want to continue to use the lockout function, like a custom manual lockout that R2-bike had, but can't find the photo of it from their site right now.

Then you'll have to cover it with a screw or something after removing the lockout. The custom manual lockout is less than 10 grams, if I am not mistaken.
