If my order goes through this week, I should have it by Friday. I'll ride it this weekend.

Right now I'm using a 36T Truvativ ring. I ordered a Blackspire Super Pro. We'll see how it goes.

The Blackspire ring was out of stock.

Based on a suggestion of the mechanic...I replaced the SRAM X7 FD with a Shimano XT. Well...I did two rides this weekend and my chain has not dropped. The shift to the big ring is much lighter and faster than the X7.

I have tightened my front derailleur cable and I have not had any issue so far. It might need to take a bit more rough descent to confirm everything is OK. Sram or any 80-120 chainrings seems hard to find at good price online

I have been having the same exact problem. It`s not the setup of the front derailleur. There is only so much you can do with the setup of the FD. I bought a new frontring which eliminated the problem... for like 10 rides, then it started to happening again. I tightened the spring in the RD but with no luck. Then I switched from SRAM chain to Shimano and now the problem is gone. I didn`t have this problem earlier either when I was running a KMC chain. Seems the SRAM chain is a bit stiff sideways which makes it drop the chain in certain gears.
I have a friend who had the same problem on SRAM Red and switched to shimano chain and, voilà!

I had to get of the bike several times in my last race so I know the feeling, maybe a clutch type RD will work also. Like the type 2 SRAM. If this problem comes back I will just order a new XTR group right away :beerchug:
Ride lots!

thanks for your feedback snabb

the problem happens less frequently since I changed my chain and increased the FD cable tension. Though it seems to come back when the chain wears out slightly. I have ordered 2 sram chains... didnt know they could be problematic.

I too would change over to XTR but I love grip shifts and I would not mix match my sram SRM with shimano components :D
