Any changes to the new build besides frame?

Chris.

I will do that while building - hope the bike will be safe to ride hehe ;-)

Got some ideas - hopefully new wheels and some changes in the drivetrain and a sub 7.3 kg front suspension bike.

Awesome bike! Anyone know the frame weights for the 2014? I also heard Norco's new threshold ht frame is close to 1000 grams.

If your looking for lightness on 2014 Scale's...forget it!

My 2014 Scale SL 29 came in at 1041gr (Medium size) with all the hardware removed except for the derailleur hanger (142+).

I believe they reinforced the frame and mostly the chain/seat stays because of the new 142+ dropouts but anyway, not a record breaker anymore!

Frame paint job in the other hand is beautiful though!

Still waiting for the replacement frame - just got these Light-Bicycle 29er bead hook-less rims.
- inner width 22mm, matt 3k finish, 28H.

I'm going to build the wheelset with a pair of Mack hubs (15mm front, 135/9mm qr rear).

Spokes are not ordered yet - not sure but something light :-)

Still waiting.... now for 6 months. Pretty long wait - anyone knows if Scott has problems with their production of some kind? from what I have heard there is problems with the delivery of frames and helmets.

They must have. Also they went from 135mm rear hub to the 142mm.
I bought a 2012 Scale 29er in Medium. I believe it was 980g for the frame. Right from the beginning I had problems. The rear wheel would not stay put in the dropouts. No matter how tight I clamped it. Different wheel, different skewer does not make a difference.
Scott replaced the frame after about 2-3 months of correspondence. The new frame was a 2013. Same problem
Eventually I will by another frame and it will not be another Scott Scale

Hopefully with the 142mm spacing and probably beefed up rear triangle they have fixed the issue.

I just picked up a 2012 scott scale rc model 29er frame size medium for a really good. I'm thinking now maybe to good to be true. I'm going to have to check on the rear wheel drop out issues with regards to holding the wheel in place. By chance did you the dt swiss skewer???
