I've got DT Huegi 240, DT competition spokes, DT XR 4.1d rims. 1710g w/ rim tape but pretty strong and not very expensive (you get them for around 300,- Euros).

Why not

Tune hubs
DT Aerolite or revolution spokes
DT XR 4.1 ceramic rims. (for better braking performance)

Light, strong and FAST!

This is the wheelset of my choice

[edit]

Forgot to say I'm on 28 spokes per wheel.

My wheel-setup

Mavic 517.
DT revolutions 32 ,3 crossing all rounder.
american classic hubs.
below 1.5kg.
Abit heavy but durable is there.
.front disc brake. rear v-brake.

Fast,light, strong and cheap!!!.

Mine is for disc-brakes. For V-Brakes I would also recommend

Huegi 240 or Tune hubs
with Sapim CX or DT Revolution spokes
and Mavic X717 ceramic or DT XR 4.1 ceramic (coming out soon) rims.

Currently I'm using Huegi 240, DT Revolution and Mavic X517 ceramic, 1490g w/ rim strip.

Not sure if any of you guys are from the UK.
Merlincycles.co.uk do a disc set

DT Hugi 240 / DT rev / X317
£287 (UK).

To get better would mean upgrading to Tune or Chris King and Sapim spokes. This however would double the cost to over £500 (UK).

Are the King hubs better than the Hugi's?I'm looking for some new wheels too.
