Hi all,
Im about to buy a set of xtr shifters and derailleur, my current bike has sram gear on it.my plan is to run the shifters and derailleur on the current sram casette and chain and replacebthem when there wornout with shimano gear.
My questions is: is this going to work or do i find myself in trouble doing this ?
Thanks, mick

Ok - assuming it is all either 9spd and 10spd
I did this for no other reason than that I could get the Sram stuff a lot cheaper. Never had any issues, would say that Shimano chains shift better than Sram though.

Norwood & Adelaide Uni CC
They use the same standard, so no issue as long as you match 'speeds'.
Personally prefer Shimano cassettes, KMC chains and no preferance on mech/shifter.
