Here's an interesting option coming, for people like me who are into 650b-converted CX for rigid "MTB" use.

Kenda Karma has been serving me very very well on my "monster cross" rig, but I'll try a Surly Knard on the rear soon for a few mm of extra clearance laterally in the rear.

Very awesome to finally have options available with the Soma Cazadero and the Surly Knard. Hacking around on the monster cross is fun.

Oh and not to mention Panaracer Gravel King.

(Of course there are Compass' offerings too but they are not knobby).

Maxxis treadlite seems like it could be a good option for you. It's not super narrow but it's available in 27.5x2.1 and is tubeless ready. Depending on how slick you want to go the maxxis re-fuse is available in 27.5x2.0 and has a textured tread. I wouldn't ride the refuse on trails but it would make a good gravel tire if racing a mountain bike on gravel courses.
