I am currently running a 2 x 10 setup with a Dura Ace 7900 front derailleur with Carbon-Ti (Speen) top pull adapter. I am also running a Sram XX rear derailleur with XX triggers. I want to try out the new SRAM XO or XX gripshift. For 2012 Sram lists a 2x10 XX or XO gripshift and an XO only 3x10 gripshift.

My questions are as follows:

1. Since SRAM gripshift no longer has the trim feature for the front Derailleur and uses index shifting, will I be able to use a SHIMANO Dura ace 7900 front derailleur with the new 2012 SRAM gripshift?

2. Competitive Cyclist lists in their description that both 2012 XO and XX 2x10 gripshift is only compatible with SRAM XX front derailleurs while 2012 XO 3 x10 gripshift can use a SRAM RED front derailleur. Anybody have experience with this?

3. Does one get more adjustability with the Front Derailleur by using a 2012 SRAM XX/XO 2x10 gripshift or by using the 2012 SRAM XO 3x10 gripshift?

I want to know which one to purchase for my existing setup......The 2x10 gripshift or the 3x10 gripshift????? My current setup is a Lightning Crankset with 104/64 spyder and a 42x27 FRM double chainring with Dura Ace 7900 front derailleur.

I'm running a Super Record Front Shifter with my GripShift 10-Speeds Twister. Works as good as it did with the old (9-Speed) ones. I didn't had to trim on my lower gears before. Crank is a Noir 3.3 converted to 24/38 with TA Rings.

I tried the setup of using a Dura Ace 7900 Front Derailleur with Carbon-Ti top pull adapter. It did not work with the 2012 SRAM XX gripshift. There was clearly not enough cable pull when shifting. It would have been nice to have a 75gram front derailleur.

So, I tried it again with a SRAM Red Front Derailleur and Carbon-Ti Top pull adapter. The Red Derailleur weighs 2 grams more but the Carbon-Ti Top pull Adapter weighs 2 grams less. So I am still at 75 grams. It worked Shifts are fast and crisp. I guess the whole 1 to 1 actuation ratio means something.

Please tell me you're still going to cut that seat tube!
