ive had good luck with a couple of schwalbe tires. the rocket ron in a 2.25 is superb, and comes in well under 600 grams. i live in CT where its rocks and roots galore and that tire hooked up in everything, dry or wet. rolls fast as well id give it top marks for riding here.
ive been trying the racing ralph in a 2.1 (though it ony measures 2.0) and ive been able to get by. not quite as much traction as the rons, def not the best in the mud, but good god they roll fast.
