I have an extralite ultrastar and tune top cap laying arround. I know this combo saves a bit of weight over a more conventional expander plug, but is it worth it to remove the starnut from my fox fork and use the extralite instead? Any decent weight to be saved that way?

As I remember a typical starnut weights in 9-12g range so no weight savings here.

Like you stated Ultrastar will save a lot over a typical expander for carbon steerers, but on aluminum steerers it is not much.
