Hi,

I found some threads on this but no real answers... My spockets (SRAM) seem to dig their way into the hubs body a little. Any way to get rid of this problem (different way mounting it)?

I also read something about a titanium body, does Tune still distribute these (under warranty?)?

Any information is welcome

A lighter and cheaper option is to use the American classic clip/pin set between your cassette and the aluminum freehub body. They retail for about $15 for the set.

I should note that this is designed for Shimano road cassettes and I haven't tried this with a Sram cassette, but don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with Sram.

These clips are for 10 speed spaced cassettes only. They won't work with 9 speed cassettes. Unless ofcourse you are running some sort of 10 speed setup with road/bar mount shifters meant for touring/comfort bikes.

I have SRAM PG990 cassette and Extralite hub and I put 1.27mm x 0.55mm x width_of_cassette thin sticks (actually flattened out very hard carpenter staple) between every freehub spline and cassette so that force is not concentrated on small area of one sprocket. It's cheap trick and the weight gain is only 1-2g. After 3000km freehub is still like new.

I was using tin can shavings in between the teeth to make the hub fit tight, however it didn't save the aluminum hub from gouging. That's awesome. I'm headed to home depot!!!


I take it that you just slide them down there, right?

So the stapler fires different lengths. If you use 14mm length, it is 0.55 inches. Closest depth staple would be 9/16 inches for imperial users which gives 0.56 mm. Thanks!!

14 mm is 9/16 in US. I went to the hardware store today and they come in several thicknesses. I opened all the boxes of 14mm and 9/16 and bought the thinnest ones. They were ACE Hardware brand and were $4 for a thousand. Then when I got home I micrometered them and they were pretty close to 1.27mm.

I hope I can get them in there.
