All front derailleurs/shifter combos should work between SRAM and Shimano.

Stefan- does that include road derailleurs with XTR shifters? I would like to use a Dura Ace front dérailleur with my new build.

Thanks Sonny, this is what I plan on running. Any modifications to the derailleur needed?

Why is that? Will it not pull enough in 2X mode.

From my experience, cable pull of 2X mode is not enough, just keep it in 3X mode and adjust the H screw to limit the fd to reach the middle ring is ok.
