My MTB is currently weighing in at just over 11Kg (11.5Kg with pedals), I'm aiming to get it down to sub 10Kg, as I know the weight of everything on the bike I'm trying to get some weights for a typical 'just under 10Kg' bike so I can understand
1/ What I have that I probably don't need to change
2/ If i do have to change something, what weight to aim at in order to use whatever I spend most effectively (no point spending twice as much say on a stem when I could get '10Kg capable' basr as well as an example.

So having looked (honest!) I can't find any suitable threads (lightbike would have been perfect!), anyone know of one?

My 2012 Specialized Epic S-works 29er is 10.55 in everyday format (with training wheels and heavy PG1070 cassette). I run real pedals too- XTR 980.
Bike is stock with the following exceptions.
Bars- changed to Salsa Pro Moto Carbon
Stem- changed to older Ritchey WCS
Seatpost- changed to Momsen design layback
Saddle- Changed to Romin Pro carbon rail
Cranks- changed to Rotor 3D+
Carbon-Ti - front skewer
ESI grips

Also put some heavier stuff on as it is a daily driver- not a showpiece.
Stan's wheels with Crest rims and 330 hubs (stock model)
SRAM PG1070 steel cassette.
Avid clean sweep rotors (not the fancy ones)
Schwable Racing Ralph 2.25 Snakeskin rear/2.35 lighter one up front

One list of components and weights may not give you the best idea. You can post the components you currently have on your bike and get suggestions on how to make it lighter.

Steve,
Thanks again for a look at that spreadsheet, nice bike, good to see a lot of my components are competative, in fact just frame and tyres would have the difference to yours although your frame is exceptionally light!
