Re: Sapim CX spokes or equivalent

I have Pillar PSRX-TRA 1425 in 240 with unthreaded 30mm shanks. Could you use a 224mm length with TG hex type locking nipples? (using this mipple usually adds 4mm over a standard type nipple)

Re: Any magenta color skewers?

The color of anodizing is also affected by the particular alloy used.
I looked at anodizing skewers to match the hubs below, but the mismatch would have been too noticeable.

Re: Dura-Ace straight-pull hub wheel building

The only way I find a satisfactory length in the case of oddball straightpull hubs is to measure everything and draw it in CAD. Of course this is fine to do when I'm building wheels for myself, but pretty hard to charge a customer for hours of computer work when they've bought such hubs thinking the...

Re: Rear hub in drilling 12/8 holes

I, too, have absolutely no idea why Corima would use such a drilling other than to purposely create a "system". Even with their proprietary hub, the DS and NDS tension points are out of "phase". Maybe it plays La Marseillaise at speed... I think the only thing that makes Corima wheels work is the in...

Re: Riding and bike hire in Bali

Good morning from Ubud, Bali! You should rethink the plan regarding Mt. Agung. It is currently erupting, with the immediate area blanketed in volcanic ash. There are MANY beautiful routes otherwise. As for a bike rental I don't think you will find quality carbon available, but try this company (I am...

Very strange.

Btw, yesterday I asked one of my suppliers (Hubsmith) if they would drill a one off 12:8 hole hub.
The answer was no.
I tried.

Good luck.

Re: tiplet lacing problem

How is the NDS laced? I built a 32 on 24 triplet using a Mavic 571 Hub. In order to double check the spoke lengths I drew the whole assembly in CAD and found a similar problem arising. When I changed the NDS to 1x everything sat properly together. Similarly I have had this issue when lacing 3x DS, 2...
