Very true. However, 112 miles of riding with a boat ancher on your head can fatigue your neck :D

Light weight Time Trial helmets

Hi,
Anyone have a list of some of the lightest TT helmets? I've been using the Uvex FP2 for many years and its on its last leg I'm afraid. I don't think they are around any longer. The Uvex FP2 weighs under 300gms. Most of the current TT helmets are over 400gms.
Cheers!

SRAM Red crank design critique

Hi all, I am a long time Dura-Ace rider and I am about to pull the trigger on a SRAM Red equipped TT rig. In the past, I have been leery of cranks that are fixed via a press-fit interference fixation design and the SRAM Red crank falls into that category. I have been more in favor of Campy's Hirth a...

2010 Madone 6.9 cracked at the Doutrap sensor recess

Anyone aware of this type of failure? I found it today after my ride. Very small fatigue fracture in the NDS chain stay at the corner of the Duotrap recess. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Re: SRM PCVII

Great pics. You can really see why the 7900 arms won't work and why the DA SRM needs more strain gauges to get the same accuracy as the Professional with purpose-built arms. Out of morbid curiosity, why are you dismounting the arms? Can you point out the design features that predispose the 7900 des...

All 7900 STI levers rattle that I have run across. Its normal. If you want 7900, learn to deal with the rattle.

7800 chainring on 7900 crankset

Has anyone installed a 7800 chain ring on a 7900 crank set? I have a 55 tooth ring that I'd like to use on my TT rig. I haven't taken a close look, but I assume that it would work using standard chain ring bolts in lieu of the torx bolts that thread into the 7900 ring.

2009 Madone 6.9 vs. 2010 project one

I wa just about to pull the trigger on a 2010 Madone 6.9. My lbs has a leftover 2009 6.9 on the floor in my size for $4500. Money is not really an issue, but I certainly do not want to waste 4 grand. Should I go for the '09?
